Sapulpa, OK – 04/20/20 – After much deliberation, Bartlett-Carnegie Sapulpa Public Library and Tulsa Community College would like to announce the winners of their poetry contest which was available to private or public high school students who live, work or go to school in Creek County. Another caveat was that students must have a Sapulpa Public Library membership card. (Library card membership is free for area residents).
In late February, the library contacted Creek County schools by phone and email to send out rules and registration forms. The dates for submission of poems were March 1-31, 2021. A number of poems were received. Thank you to everyone who participated. Your creativity was wonderful.
The judging panel was made up of Sapulpa Public Library staff, Tulsa Community College staff and retired faculty, members of the Friends of Sapulpa Library, and local business owners. The top four poems reviewed and received by the judges were submitted through an anti-plagiarism program to ensure the originality of the work. All the poems passed with flying colors. Congratulations to our winners who come from Kiefer High School and Eagle Point Christian Academy.
