Poetry contest, movie night and more at the library this month

Tulsa Community College and the Sapulpa Friends of the Library offer the first poetry contest for high school students in Creek County. TCC and Friends of the Library are jointly offering prizes. First place will be $100, a first place plaque, and a summer course from the TCC’s select block of summer courses. Second place wins $75 and a second place plaque, and third place wins $50 and a third place plaque. Submissions will be accepted March 1-31, 2021. Judging will take place April 1-20, 2021. The winner will be announced on Facebook and local media.

Activities for children Story time is back! It takes place at 11 a.m. every Tuesday at Frank Hall. Please RSVP. Reading Week Across America runs from March 1-6; there are lots of fun activities for the kids. Come take a selfie with the characters of Dr. Suess Sally, Conrad and their goldfish, Carlos K. The free lunch program for young people continues and no registration is required. It is accessible to children from 0 to 18 years old on the following days at the following times: Tuesday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday – Thursday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Movie night is back! This month’s movie is “The War With Grandpa” and will screen on Tuesday, March 16.

The online children’s reading program, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, is still available for children ages 0-7. To participate, parents should go to sapulpapubliclibrary.beanstack.org

Sale of baked potatoes on March 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take-out and delivery only. Advance tickets are $8.00 and ticket sales end March 21.

Rada Cutlery sale orders for the Rada Cutlery sale can be placed online, and you can find out more by attending the Friends of the Library meeting on March 3.

AARP’s Tax Assistance Group has packages, while they last, at the Sapulpa Public Library Upper Level Circulation Desk for their 2021 Free Tax Prep. You must have a package to make an appointment. -you.

  2. Tax assistance is by appointment only.
  3. Follow the instructions inside your packet to make your appointment.
